Stepping Stones North Wales Welcomes Grant from Gwynt y Môr Community Fund to Support Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse

Stepping Stones North Wales, a leading charity providing specialist trauma informed counselling and support services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, is proud to announce that it has secured a grant from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm Community Fund.

This vital funding will enable Stepping Stones to expand its counselling services and outreach programmes across Conwy, Denbighshire, and Flintshire, ensuring more survivors receive the tailored, trauma-informed support they need to begin to overcome their trauma and to lead happier, healthier lives.

The Gwynt y Môr Community Fund, supported by RWE and its project partners and managed by Community and Voluntary Support Conwy, is designed to empower local communities by funding impactful, grassroots initiatives. The grant awarded to Stepping Stones North Wales reflects the fund’s commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing in North Wales.

Phil Eastment, CEO of Stepping Stones North Wales, welcomed the funding, saying:

“We are incredibly grateful to the Gwynt y Môr Community Fund and for this generous grant. It comes at a crucial time when demand for our services continues to grow. With this support, we can reach more survivors whose lives have been deeply impacted by abuse, offering them a safe space to be believed, be heard, to heal and to begin rebuilding their lives. This funding will make a real and lasting difference in our communities.”

Founded in 1984, Stepping Stones North Wales has been a lifeline for countless adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse, providing free, confidential counselling and support services. The charity works closely with local agencies and health services to deliver holistic, client-led and trauma informed care.
