Volunteers’ Week 2025
Stepping Stones North Wales CEO Phil Eastment’s message to Stepping Stones North Wales’ volunteers 4th June 2025
Each year, Volunteers’ Week (which this year is running from 2nd-8th June) is a chance to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution of volunteers here in Wales and throughout the UK.
Whether it’s supporting a friend or neighbour, supporting Welsh NHS services or supporting the work of charities like Stepping Stones North Wales, volunteers make an invaluable contribution to making our communities stronger, healthier, and more connected.
It is no exaggeration to say that volunteers truly are the unsung heroes of society. Their commitment and compassion helps bridge gaps in services, brings comfort to those who are lonely, isolated or in distress and often ensures that people are supported when they need help the most.
The dedication of Stepping Stones North Wales’ is truly inspirational and personifies all that is good about the third sector. Childhood sexual abuse remains shrouded in stigma and taboo and this makes fundraising – already difficult in this economic climate – even more difficult. Volunteering for our charity requires courage, and your courage helps to improve the lives of survivors throughout North Wales each and every day.
So, as we mark Volunteers’ Week, I want to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers for your commitment, your kindness and your courage.
