Celebrating Stepping Stones North Wales' Inspirational Volunteers

6th June 2026

Volunteers from Stepping Stones North Wales came together on Friday 5 June to celebrate their remarkable contribution to supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across North Wales as part of Volunteers' Week 2026.

The event brought together volunteers from across the six counties of North Wales to recognise their dedication, commitment and the difference they make to the lives of survivors every day. Volunteers received certificates of appreciation presented by Amy Jones, Community Development Officer at the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW), in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the charity's work.

The day also provided an opportunity for volunteers to hear about the charity's achievements over the past year, learn about future plans for development, and share experiences, ideas and best practice with fellow volunteers.

Volunteering is at the heart of Stepping Stones North Wales. Many volunteers bring lived experience and use their skills, knowledge and compassion to support the charity's mission of providing free, specialist, trauma-informed support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across North Wales.

Phil Eastment, Chief Executive Officer of Stepping Stones North Wales, said:

"Our inspirational volunteers from across North Wales are at the heart of our charity. They give their time, skills and compassion to help us reach more survivors and ensure that nobody has to face the impact of childhood sexual abuse alone. Many of our volunteers bring lived experience, and their courage, commitment and determination to give back inspire us every day. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and proud to celebrate their contribution during Volunteers' Week."

Stepping Stones North Wales provides free, specialist, trauma-informed support to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across all six counties of North Wales, with services available in both Welsh and English.
